Community Service

Rotaract of Chattanooga is a young and vibrant group eager to make a difference by serving the Chattanooga community. As our group continues to grow in size and reputation, we expect our capacity to make a significant and positive difference in the Chattanooga community will also grow.

Rotaract members have served our community in a variety of ways, including tutoring and mentoring children, career preparation, building projects, cleaning and landscaping facilities, and much more.

Lookout Mountain Conservancy’s Howard Intern Program is a cause close to our hearts. The Lookout Mountain Conservancy (LMC) employs students from Howard High School to preserve and protect Chattanooga’s natural resources. The students learn about nature, conservation, teamwork, and trust by establishing lasting relationships with LMC’s leaders and other students in the program. More importantly, the program provides a unique opportunity for inner-city students to have a safe work environment, provide supportive income for their families, and learn people and professional skills to succeed in life. Since the creation of the internship program in 2013, Howard High School reports that participating students have become leaders in their class and set examples for other students. Their grades and attendance are improving with promising plans for attending secondary education upon graduating. Learn more about their work here.

Chambliss Center for Children preserves family unity and helps prevent child dependency, neglect, abuse, and delinquency by responding to the community’s childcare needs. Rotaract has proudly partnered with Chambliss since 2019. Learn more about their work here.

Members of Rotaract are always looking for ways to partner and deepen our engagement with the community. If you have an idea for a partnership, please contact us here.
